Edition Upgrades
If you'd like to further support the development of Gray Zone Warfare, you can upgrade to one of the game’s higher editions.
Each edition includes gear, weapons, and resources, giving PMCs a stronger starting point and offering extra value to those backing the game’s continued development.
The highest edition is the Supporter Edition, which includes unique cosmetic apparel, a special designation, an exclusive morale patch, additional equipment, and the largest locker and lockbox. Supporter Edition owners also get early access to major updates through the Supporter Preview, several days before the full release.
Check out the full breakdown of all available editions in our latest article.
Soft Wipe
With Update 0.5, we are avoiding a full wipe and proceeding with a partial wipe instead. This will allow us to rebalance the in-game economy for the new update while letting players retain their progression and avoid having to grind from scratch.
Players will retain their progression from Update 0.4, including completed tasks, rank, unlocked apparel, vendor levels, and statistics, while their locker and money will be wiped.
When first entering Update 0.5, players will need to choose which mode they want to transfer their existing character progression to. This action is irreversible. The faction stays the same.
What’s Next
Update 0.5 marks another major step forward in the development of Gray Zone Warfare and towards Ground Zero. But there’s still much more to come. Where others end, we begin.
We’ll continue supporting the game with regular patches, hotfixes, and ongoing improvements. We’re also working on new features, content, and gameplay improvements for future major updates.
As always, your feedback plays an important role in shaping the future of the game. We look forward to hearing your thoughts on the update. Please share your feedback and bug reports with us!

UPDATE 0.5.0.1 CHANGELOG
Introduction
Update 0.5: Rogue Ops is here, introducing the Hideout, a new progression path where players gather resources, craft useful items, produce valuable goods, and take on risky smuggling operations. Three new Tier 4 points of interest bring new storylines to Lamang, while smarter AI introduces new challenges, including throwing grenades and executing downed players. We've also streamlined the health system to improve the combat experience.
Players can now create up to four characters across factions and game modes, and new firearms such as the Benelli M4, FAMAS, and G36 join the arsenal alongside 370 new weapon parts.
The update also introduces a seasonal soft wipe, allowing players to carry over their progression from Update 0.4 while their equipment and locker contents are reset.
New Features
Hideout
“As players prepare to venture into Ground Zero, they choose how to build their legacy”
The Hideout is one of the biggest additions in this update, introducing an entirely new progression path. Once players reach certain vendor ranks, they unlock their own Hideout and begin building their operation from the ground up.
The Hideout also introduces new activities to Gray Zone Warfare, including crafting and production, giving players more ways to progress and earn money. This is only the first iteration of the Hideout system, and we plan to expand it further in future updates.
Rooms
The Hideout consists of two main production rooms and a utility room, giving players the freedom to choose which path to focus on.
Laboratory
Players can craft medical items and stims, as well as produce other chemical substances that can be sold or used to craft more complex products
Electronics Workshop
Players can disassemble electronic devices and extract valuable intel and crafting materials used to create tracking tags and hacking tools
Utility Room
Provides power to the production rooms
Stations
Each Hideout room contains several stations that players can build and upgrade to expand their production capabilities. The stations also change visually as they're upgraded, reflecting the player's progress.
Building and upgrading stations require resources found throughout the world, obtained through crafting, purchased from vendors, or earned as task rewards.
Crafting
Players can find crafting materials and recipes throughout the world and use them to create various items based on their Hideout progression.
Starting with basic materials and products they can sell, players gradually unlock the ability to craft more valuable items and useful tools, including stims, tracking tags, and hacking tools.
Profits from selling these products can help fund further Hideout upgrades. Players can choose to sell their products to vendors for a lower but safer payout or take the risk of smuggling them for potentially greater rewards.
Hacking
Hacking gives players another way to bypass certain locks without needing a key or code, opening access to restricted areas and valuable loot.
Players can hack electronic locks secured by keypads and card readers, provided they have an appropriate hacking device in their inventory. The universal hacking tool comes in three tiers, giving players access to different levels of electronic security as they progress. In some cases, hacking may be the only way to access an area or open a locked safe.
Smuggling & Hunting
Smuggling introduces time-limited challenges where players prepare high-value cargo using resources produced in their Hideouts and attempt to deliver it to designated locations.
Once players accept a smuggling task, they have limited time to prepare the required resources, collect the contraband backpack from its pickup location, and complete the delivery. Successful smuggling runs reward players with money and vendor reputation.
But beware, smuggling is no walk in the park. Accepting a smuggling task alerts players from opposing factions and creates Hunting zones on the map, indicating areas where smuggling activity is taking place.
Hunters can attempt to intercept smugglers and disrupt their operations to earn experience and vendor reputation. In PvE mode, smugglers face AI enemies instead of opposing players.
Notable Changes
Multiple Characters
Players can now create up to four characters, each tied to a specific game mode (PvE or PvEvP) and faction
Limited to one character per faction and game mode combination
Account wipes have been retired. Players can instead create new characters in different factions or game modes
Players can also delete one character per week
Players with existing characters must select a game mode when starting Rogue Ops
Seasonal Soft Wipe
Players retain their progression from Update 0.4, including completed tasks, rank, unlocked apparel, vendor ranks, and statistics
Equipment, locker contents, and money will be reset
Streamlined Health System
We've streamlined the healing process so that treatment now applies to an entire body part rather than individual injuries
For example, if both bones in one leg are fractured, a single application of a splint can now treat both fractures
We've reworked the bleeding system to give players more time to fight off opponents before needing to treat their wounds
Each body part now acts as a single source of bleeding
The bleeding rate depends on the ammunition type and the severity of the hit, including whether it damages flesh, organs, or bones
The total bleeding rate is calculated as the sum of bleeding from all affected body parts
Bleeding rates have been reduced across the board
The improved health screen now provides more information about injuries and treatment
Updated symptom icons
New buff icons displaying beneficial effects from stims
Expanded body part tooltips
Blood bags and drinks are now consumed by volume rather than by charge, meaning players use only the amount they need
AI
New out-of-combat animations make Lamang feel more alive. AI NPCs now drink, check their phones, and go about their daily routines, making their behavior feel more natural.
We've also made significant improvements to AI behavior during combat:
Smarter combat behavior and decision-making: AI NPCs acquire their targets faster and lose them more slowly, fire their first shot with less hesitation, and switch between targets without breaking off the fight. When they spot players, they turn and engage rather than immediately seeking cover, unless they're already under fire. Their combat decisions are also more consistent, adapting their positioning and tactics based on the distance to their targets and the weapons they're carrying. They maintain distance, sidestep, take cover, or advance as needed. They no longer repeatedly switch between actions when facing multiple enemies or waste time suppressing positions they cannot effectively hit
Better combat awareness: AI NPCs will now treat their wounds when injured. Injured NPCs continue fighting when players are nearby, rather than turning their backs on them, and only check or treat their wounds when it’s safe to do so. They also reposition to avoid friendly fire. Alerted NPCs investigate noises and monitor distant enemies instead of instantly taking cover, but switch to combat as soon as they are shot at.
Smarter use of cover: AI NPCs now select cover positions that allow them to engage their targets and spread out rather than crowding behind a single tree. They no longer take unnecessary routes around buildings or run past players just to reach cover, and only seek cover on another floor when it's accessible. They also no longer see or shoot over their own cover. When their cover is flanked, they move to a new position and avoid the old one for a while. Injured NPCs seek the nearest safe cover rather than running long distances in the open. They monitor distant gunfire but take cover only when sniper fire lands near them.
Curiosity and aggression: AI NPCs no longer wait behind cover forever. If players remain hidden, they will eventually leave cover to find them, with more experienced soldiers moving sooner. If players are no longer at their last known position, they head to where players are most likely to have gone. Each takes its own route so the squad doesn’t move as one group, and they stay within the area they guard.
Depending on their faction, some AI NPCs can now throw grenades to flush players out of cover. They can carry up to three grenades depending on their rank, take turns throwing them, and try to avoid injuring fellow soldiers. They also actively search for players in a coma and attempt to finish them off, making teamwork and positioning more important than ever.
World Updates
New Locations
Three brand-new Tier 4 points of interest bring more dangerous challenges and new storylines that expand the lore of Lamang and its complicated history. We've also added more than 15 smaller locations, including drug huts (more information below), apartment buildings, and underground tunnels.
The three new Tier 4 locations are:
RLSL-1 (Radio Observatory)
Constructed by the Soviets in the 1960s during the Vietnam War, RLSL-1 originally served as a military listening post, operating as part of a radio interception network alongside YBL-1 and Fort Narith. The facility was later converted into a radio observatory, but following the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the original personnel departed, leaving the site entirely under the control of the Lamang Armed Forces. For decades, it was manned by little more than a skeleton crew responsible for basic maintenance.
Over the years, some of the structures fell into disrepair, although much of the original equipment remained surprisingly functional. Even today, some of the aging computers can still be brought back to life when powered on. However, just a few months before the Event, the facility saw a sudden influx of LAF personnel, along with extensive modernization efforts and hastily conducted repairs. The timing seems far too convenient to be a coincidence, raising questions about exactly what was happening at RLSL-1 and whether those activities ever truly stopped.
Lakevale Sanctuary (Asylum)
Established in 1956, Lakevale Sanctuary was once among the most respected medical institutions in the region. However, following the Lamangese Civil War in 1968, the facility was repurposed to house political opponents and others deemed undesirable by the new regime. Its reputation quickly deteriorated, and stories of patient mistreatment and questionable medical practices became commonplace.
Following the Event, the Lamang Armed Forces established a permanent presence on the grounds, although the soldiers seem strangely reluctant to enter the main buildings, preferring to remain in makeshift encampments outside. What exactly goes on behind the walls of Lakevale Sanctuary remains a mystery.
Northern Reach (Military Research Site)
Established by the Lamang Armed Forces shortly after the Event, Northern Reach is a heavily fortified military research facility dedicated to investigating Ground Zero and recovering anything of potential value. Initially, the operation attracted some of the military's finest personnel, but mounting casualties and increasingly disturbing reports from returning expeditions soon took their toll.
Today, expeditions into Ground Zero continue despite the growing reluctance of those ordered to undertake them. Morale among the remaining personnel is at an all-time low, and the research facilities operate under strict security. Whatever the scientists have managed to uncover, it seems to have come at a terrible cost.
Drug Huts
Hidden throughout Lamang are locations connected to the island's drug trade. Controlled by various factions, these drug huts can be raided by players to obtain valuable resources for production in their Hideout Laboratories.
Changes to the Combat Outpost System
We've reworked the Combat Outpost (COP) system. Major COPs have been temporarily decommissioned. These locations remain in the world but no longer function as contestable outposts.
To compensate for this change, we've redistributed the existing minor COPs to provide more even coverage across the world map and create more natural stopping points as players progress through Lamang's regions.
This change also affects Vulture. Previously available only at two major COPs on a rotating schedule, Vulture is now a regular vendor, accessible to all players at the base camp or at COPs.
